Co-ops for Community-Economic Developers

8:30 am - 12:00 pm

Are you a community development practitioner? A small business supporter? A community activist or advocate? Compared to traditional businesses, co-ops are more likely to provide quality jobs for marginalized populations, benefit the local economy, and address community needs. Come learn about how cooperatives be tools for community ownership and wealth building. In this workshop, participants will learn about cooperative businesses, how they can be avenues for ownership in Black and Brown communities, and meet professionals actively supporting cooperative development in Detroit.
