As you are likely aware by now, Michigan has announced its first presumptive positive cases of COVID-19, in Wayne and Oakland Counties, and in order to maximize efforts to slow the spread, Governor Whitmer has declared a state of emergency. Out of concern for public health and to halt in-person events and meetings, Co.act Detroit will be postponing all public events and bookings for the months of March and April. We recognize that one of the unique benefits Co.act Detroit offers to the nonprofit community is the capacity to bring people together in one place for unique encounters and collaboration. We’ve made this decision out of an abundance of caution, particularly for those in our community at risk of serious complications from COVID-19.

As our communities face the disruptions and dangers of COVID-19, nonprofit organizations will be key to maintaining the health and well-being of our communities. Moving through the coming months, Co.act Detroit will keep on finding ways to connect southeast Michigan nonprofits to the organizations and resources needed to respond to the needs of our community.

Co.act Detroit is still operational and are following closely the recommendations of local public health officials, the CDC, and the Michigan Department of Human Services and will reschedule all events at a later date.
