The Gadget Garage is Co.act’s resource library, providing free access to technology and equipment to help nonprofits and community organizations tell their stories and boost their impact. Available packages include Zoom and projector kits, photography gear, podcasting equipment, and even drones for aerial footage. These offerings are designed to support content creation, storytelling, and more effective community engagement.

Why did we build Gadget Garage?

Our nonprofit partners have expressed a growing need for technology resources to assist with storytelling and elevating the impact of their work.

Who is it for?

Mission-driven nonprofit and community organizations.

Who is eligible?

Registered 501c3 nonprofits and community / grassroots organizations with 501c3 fiscal sponsors. Eligible borrowers will be asked to register for an account and upload documentation prior to checking out any items.

What are the offerings?

Gadget Garage includes a wide range of tech equipment including digital cameras, portable video cameras, laptops, drones and more. Equipment is organized into ‘kits’ based upon how it will be used.

What does it cost?

The Gadget Garage is an in-kind service, with all items provided free of charge.

How long can I use the equipment?

Co.act lends equipment on a daily basis from Mon – Sun, with a 7-day max. limit.

How do I reserve equipment?

Equipment can be reserved in person at Co.act. Users are required to open an account on the Cheqroom reservation
plaform and sign an equipment usage agreement, which can be done in person at Co.act. Make an appointment to reserve equipment here.

How do I fulfill my reservation?

Equipment can be picked up / dropped off in person, by appointment at Co.act on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am-4pm. A Co.act Team member will assist you. Reserve a pick up / drop off time here.

What if I need technical assistance with how to use the equipment?

A Co.act team member will provide an overview of the equipment and links to user resources. If further assistance is
needed, Co.act will direct you to additional support.

What if I lose or damage the equipment?

Per the User Agreement, if equipment is or damaged or lost, the user will be charged for the cost of repair or full replacement.

What if I’m late in returning the equipment?

Users will receive a reminder email or text message with the due dates and time. For late returns, users may be charged a late fee. Co.act will handle late returns on a case by case basis.
