True financial wellness is about values — understanding what is important to you and putting action steps in place to align what you do with what you value. As part of our Social Impact Leader series, join Co.act Detroit and Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN) Detroit for a workshop led by Karen Beavor of Georgia Center for Nonprofits. She will walk us through the 8 pillars of financial wellness and provide a toolkit we can use to begin or enhance our journeys toward financial confidence and success.

As President and CEO of the Georgia Center for Nonprofits since 1998, Karen has led GCN’s growth into a leading state association empowering nonprofits through education, advocacy, research, consulting and business support services. GCN is known as a hub of social innovation founding Georgia Gives Day, a day of giving raising $24M in 24 hours in 2020; the Nonprofit University, a talent development solution serving Georgia’s nonprofit employers; and a national social enterprise leading talent acquisition in the social sector.

Karen has served as a board member or advisory board member of a variety of civic and nonprofit organizations including serving as current Chair of the Unemployment Services Trust. In 2000 she was named a Georgia Trend 100 Most Influential Leader and an Atlanta Business Chronicle Legacy Leader. Past honors include the Martin Luther King Leadership Award for Peace & Justice, the Harvard Business School Club of Atlanta’s Community Leader Award, GA Trend’s most influential, Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 50 Most Influential Nonprofit Leaders, Southeast Association Magazine’s Association Leader of the Year, Atlanta Business Chronicle 40 under 40. She is a graduate of Agnes Scott College.
